Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a reader. A voracious reader. Someone who reads a little bit (and more often, a lot) of everything. Someone who thinks that the answer to practically anything can be found in a well-chosen book.

All I hope is that, when this is all over, our kids and we will think that we did the best that we could.

The Third Reaction

When people find out about our extreme coast-to-coast commuting relationship, we typically get one of two reactions:

  1. Disbelief: “Are you crazy?  Why don’t you just move there?
  2. Empathy: “I know a couple who did this.  The economy sucks.  It must be hard.

Had my daily talk-in-the-car with Chris this morning, about nothing in particular. I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating. These talks are what make this strange commuter family thing work. The small things matter in the biggest way possible.
